Ruth Carter is the founder and owner of Blue Ink Films. Blue Ink Films is a development and production company that produces and collaborates with new, up and coming writers and directors to deliver their vision whether in feature films or in television. Ruth has 15 years of experience in TV and film development in Ireland and the UK, with a passion for stories that have realistic shooting scripts. Primarily focusing on developing and producing low budget, high quality comedy with one of RTE's biggest rating comedies, Damo and Ivor series one and two, she then launched Blue Ink Films. Since then, she’s produced a slate of comedies including Damo and Ivor– The Movie, picked up by Carnaby International, Netflix. She has also just completed two comedy pilots: 'Bump and Dad' starring a diverse cast like Charlene McKenna and Tina Kellegher, financed by RTE and Screen Ireland. She also produced RTE’s first animation comedy series for adults 'Ends Meet' as well as producing 7 shorts for the RTE online player. Ruth also has credits in film development, for Oscar-nominated Glenn Close film 'Albert Nobbs', 'Byzantium' starring Saoirse Ronan, 'Triage' starring Colin Farrell and many more. Ruth also generates ideas, writes her own material, sources writers, negotiates deals, provides script notes and works alongside the writer, producer and director to get the script ready for production. She has received development financing from MEDIA Slate funding as well as working alongside both Screen Ireland and RTE.
